Together in Paris... Jenae and Paul

 TOGETHER IN PARIS...........

We decided to take one of the tours from Base to Paris, as a celebration for our 11th Wedding Anniversary that will be on September 13, while Paul is in the States for a month. We had a girl staying at our house for a month that used to babysit for us, and she wanted to get to Paris,So we decided to Join her on the tour to Paris

We had such a fun day together. We had  already done the tour the group was doing a few years ago, so we spent most of the morning doing our own thing. We decided to Visit one of the famous Art museums in Paris. Since we both love art, we really enjoyed the art museum.

We got two paintings. We got one similar to the red and black one below.
We had to stop and buy some street art. We always buy a small painting or water color art of the cities we visit. It is always fun to buy them off the street artist as they are so cheap.

These funny statues were outside the art Museum, so we took a picture for the kids for fun.
Outside the Art Museum, it had 5 floors of art, we only saw about two floors.
Love locks Bridge.........these are my favorite...

A few years ago we put our own lock on the love bridge in Paris, that is near the Noterdam Cathedral. So today we put another one on a different bridge near the Eiffel tower.

So the story of the love lock bridges goes way back, lovers used to sneak out in the night and put there locks on the bridge. It was said to lock there love forever. Then after you put your love lock on the bridge, you throw the keys into the river and make a wish.I guess more and more people started putting locks on the bridges. Then there was a time they tried to put a stop to the locks on bridges as it was making parts of bridges cave in. So there was a time they cut all the locks of the bridges to save the bridges and prove people could no longer put locks on the bridges. After they did this people rebelled and started putting more locks on the bridge, not just at night but during the day as well. Now all over Europe you will find Bridges with hundreds of locks on them in all size, shapes and colors, some engraved some written on with marker etc. Yes it's cheesy and fun to put a lock on the bridges.

It's interesting to walk down the bridges and read the things written or engraved on the locks. Its got so much history of lovers. There are a few areas on some of the bridges where they have had to put boards to support areas where the bridges are to weighted down with locks, its kind of crazy.

We went on a boat cruise later in the day. This is always fun as it tells more about the city.(I know don't you love the random people in the back ground, behind us haha i did not know how to crop it on here.)

Some of the views we saw during the boat Cruise.

We ended the day at the Famous Norterdam Cathedral, it is huge and so inspiring, we got to take a tour inside. It is so beautiful with all the engravings and the stained glass windows. I love all the stained glass windows there are some really pretty ones. Also while we were there they had a mens choir singing and it was heavenly music it really added to the environment.

we had such a great day, and were grateful to the family who watched our kids for a night and a day so we could go. You have to get on the bus like 4 in the morning. And then you come home the next day like 1 in the morning so you spend alot of time trying to sleep on the bus haha, and you are just there for a day.But it was such a treat to get a trip to paris to celebrate our Anniversary.
